When last we saw Randy Winbush's 'Do Work' squad, they were hoisting their championship trophy in the air after having won the Downey League championship. Now the Downey Champs will bring their act to Hub City. The team is slotted to play in a double header in Week 3. Do Work was impressive in the Downey playoffs, but the Saturday league is a whole new caliber of talent.
Expecting Do Work to duplicate their feats in Downey may be asking a lot for anumber of reasons. For starters, the gameplay will be different with the institution of NBA Rules in Hub City. Illegal defense calls have all but eradicated the traditional zone defense making each individual more accountable for his own man. Also the bigger floor will test Do Work's conditioning as well as their range. The three point line is further out and will almost definitely affect Do Work's shooting performance.
In the end, Do Work is still a very formidable team and will help to further improve the quality of the league. They will be thesecond foreign city champion to enter Hub City. The first was The Showstopperz, who won the Hawaiian Gardens championship prior to The Show Basketball's move to Compton. The Showstopperz ended up losing in the semi-finals of the playoffs.
