News Title:  Hot Shot, Mauricio Mejia

Mauricio Mejia likes to shoot his free throws more than a foot behind the line. This hasn't always resulted in a favorable free throw percentage The Show's resident Mighty Mouse, but M&M found greater success during the Downey Show's All Star festivties when he took a few more steps back and competed in the three point shootout. Mejia defeated seven other competitors to capture Downey's  first 3 point shootout championship. Now Mauri and his Street legends crew set their eyes on the Downey Championship. A solid MVP candidate, Mejia leads the team in points, rebounds, assists and steals and field goal percentage, shooting a blistering 56.9% from the field. Flanked by Jerald Smoots, David Rueda and Devan Jones, Mejia's team finished the regular season 8-2 securing the number one seed in the playoffs in the process. They easily dispatched of their first round opponents, Magnum, in the first round despite being without Smoots and Rueda. The Street Legends face the Warriors next in the Semifinals, and you'd better believe Mejia will bring his 22.1 points per game with him. Mejia's Street Legends also compete in the Compton League with a few roster changes. Expect Mejia to take part in Compton's three point shootout come All Star time, and don't be surprised if Mauri wins it all again.
